Fatal Frame Coming to Wii U

Koei Tecmo and Nintendo have released a trailer for a new chapter in the Fatal Frame series.  The game is titled Zero: Nuregarasu no Miko in Japan, which translates to Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden.

Just like other Fatal Frame titles before, the mission of the game is to capture ghosts using an in-game camera.  The main character, Kozukata Yuuri, can see the spirits of the deceased.  It is said that she has the ability to bring spirits back to the living world by traveling to Mount Hikamiyama, a place also known as the mountain of the dead.  According to Koei Tecmo, this is the place where the living can cross over to the world of the dead in a time sensitive manner.

Koei Tecmo has also stated that this will be the largest release to date for the Fatal Frame series.  In related news, a film adaptation of Fatal Frame is being planned by Koei Tecmo, also linked to a novel and a comic book series.
