Warner Bros. announced that Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will now be released one week ahead of its original October 7th release date. This makes it the second game to jump off of October 7th, and the third game to get out of October in the last few days.
However, even with those release date changes, October 7th still has:
- Alien: Isolation
- NBA 2K15
- NBA Live 15
- Project Spark
The rest of the month still includes:
- Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
- The Evil Within
- Lords of the Fallen
- Assassin’s Creed Unity
- Sunset Overdrive
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will now launch on September 30th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360; and will be released on October 2nd for PC and Steam.
Not surprising news in the least. We have all been saying for months that developers/publishers would be silly to keep all of these games in October. There is no way they all get the attention/sales they need to be a success if they did. Kudos to Warner Bros. for being the 2nd publisher to realize this and get the hell out of October, even if only by a week. It will make all the difference in the long run.
