Microsoft has teased that there will be some “big surprises” in store for the Xbox briefing right before Gamescom.
The event, announced for August 12, 2014, will be live streamed on Xbox.com, Xbox Live, and on the Xbox Twitch account. The event will launch about 5 a.m. PDT. Meanwhile, Sony will be holding its own press briefing on August 11th, at 11 a.m. PDT.
Coincidentally, the worldwide premiere of Call of Duty: Advance Warfare‘s online multiplayer will begin its livestream on August 11th as well and only an hour before Sony’s conference at 10 a.m. PDT. So be prepared for a couple of news-filled mornings soon.
My Opinion:
I am curious on what Microsoft could have up its sleeves. The company is in real need for something to boost sales of the new Xbox One. Apart from the upcoming releases of console exclusives like the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft is going to need to have something pretty huge to convince future buyers.
On what they could possibly reveal though…I believe that Microsoft will continue on their new campaign of being game centric. So I think they will possibly reveal some new exclusives for the console at the briefing. Possibly could it tie in to the game that BioWare had been teasing recently? Either way, we will all see on August 12th.
