Nintendo released a Hyrule Warriors Direct this week which announced a plethora of new features included in the game.
Included in the above video, you can see that for the first time in a Legend of Zelda game, players will be given control of Gannondorf. Following that, there was a reveal of an Adventure mode that sports original Legend of Zelda sprites and complements the campaign’s gameplay. Also announced was a number of skins available for the character when Club Nintendo members register the game within four weeks of release. Additionally, extra DLC character skins will be available as a bonus for preordering the game with participating retailers.
Finally, IGN covered an announcement about the ability to play couch co-op in Hyrule Warriors. They highlighted a lack of comments on the potential for online co-op, and in a later update, confirmed that Nintendo had no comment on the matter at this time.
Hyrule Warriors will release on September 26, 2014 in North America for the Wii U.
My Opinion:
Every week I read something new on this game, and every week, I get more excited for it. Everyone who saw this game and thought, “Who do they think will like this?” should know that they were thinking of people like me. I am a fan of the hack-n-slash gameplay of the previous Warriors games, and I am a fan of The Legend of Zelda. This is a perfect mash-up.
Dustin LaRoe is an Associate Writer for MONG and is pretty awful at games. If you want proof, take him out in an online match. His Gamertag and Steam ID are Guy 105
