Sony revealed through IGN that a special edition of Drive Club has been announced for Europe, and is priced at €69.99. On the physical side of the goodies, those who purchase the version will find unique foil art encased in a high-quality sleeve, as well as two vinyl stickers with emblems on them.
Digital goods that the ecition will include are a little more well rounded. These extras include: immediate access to the McLaren P1, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, Ferrari 458 Italia, Aston Martin v12 Vantage S, and Alfa Romeo 4C. All of the high performance vehicles have unique designs for players to show off. There are also customizations included to install on other cars as well.
IGN has reached out to Sony and likely Evolution Studios as well for more info as to whether the special edition could make it stateside. We’ll have an update here too, if they find out!
Normally, I would avoid writing pieces for driving games. They’ve never been my genre. But with team themed driving games taking a development spot light recently I can’t help but admit these games have grabbed me. I can imagine taking on the roll of a support, driving with the intent of knocking opponents of my team off the road or out of the way. Sadly the special edition doesn’t appeal to me. Most physical content seems rather bland, including the stickers, but the digital content for this game seems to really pack a punch. While I won’t be purchasing the version, I can see why a driving enthusiast may be interested.
