Final Fantasy XIV: Patch 2.35

Square Enix has officially released another update to their most recent MMO, Final Fantasy XIV. The patch entitled Patch 2.35 brings with it a bevy of quality of life adjustments, and various new additions to the game.

Major Additions:

  • The ability to color one’s chocobo via fruit.

  • The Ixal Beast Tribe Quests, which have been introduced to give crafters daily quests to complete.

  • The ability to form Party Alliances consisting of 24 players.

  • Major revisions to The Hunt system.

My Opinion:

Although this patch may not have been the largest, it addressed four key issues that have plagued this game since its beginnings. Probably the biggest quality of life change is the ability to finally form alliance with other parties. No longer are the days of queueing into Syrcus Tower to find that you’ve been paired with two moronic groups who can’t seem to not stand in the fire. The other major addition being more content for crafters outside of the crafting mini-game via the Ixal Beast Tribe Quests. The two quality of life changes however pale in comparison to The Hunt changes which people have been very vocal about. Previously, The Hunt had been game breaking, and while this patch didn’t truly nerf The Hunt, it did make it more accessible to casual players. It’s nice to know that the devs are listening and the ones at Square Enix certainly are.
