Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment, said that he was also surprised by the exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider in an interview with Eurogamer.net.
“It’s very interesting the way Phil Spencer said, what we are saying is, in holiday 2015 Tomb Raider is exclusive to Xbox. So it’s open to interpretation. But still, we didn’t anticipate something like this would happen.”
When asked if Sony was told or not, Shuei said, “They might have to our third-party relations team, but I didn’t know.”
Yoshida was also asked if he believes Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to PS4 eventually and said, “That question has to be asked to Square Enix and Microsoft. I hope the game will come out eventually on PS4. But how can I tell? Other than that cryptic message by Phil Spencer.”
My Opinion:
I find it interesting that Shuhei didn’t know. I love his honesty concerning the situation though. You would think that he had received word ahead of time and he sounds disappointed by the news. I think it will at least come to PC at some point, if not the PS4.
