The Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel recently dropped a music video starring Slowpoke. The video features Slowpoke (or “Yadon” as he is known in Japan) in a variety of weird states and postures.
The surreal music video opens with numerous Slowpoke shown eating their tails Human Centipede style. Next Slowpoke can be seen wagging its tail, blinking in close-up shots, and creepily turning its head. The song is titled “Donai Yanen Yadon” which loosely translates to “How You’re a Slowpoke After All” according to Kotaku. Singer Hiro provides vocals for the reggae track which is entirely in Japanese. See the amazing video for yourself.
Pokémon is one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time. Yet it is one of the few Nintendo franchises that I never really got into. Seeing videos like this make me wish I was a fan of the series so that I could better appreciate the video. I really don’t know what is being said in the video and I don’t need to. What I need is an mp3 version of the song to listen to on repeat for the next few days.
