The Geekend Update: 9/5/14

Weekends are meant strictly for gaming; at least that’s what we think. Here is where you can find out all of our crazy plans for the upcoming weekend!

 

Courtney Osborn, Founder & Editor in Chief:

I’ll be playing The Last Tinker: City of Colors for part of the weekend.  I have been considering buying Minecraft for PlayStation 4 lately, so I may finally dive into that….. Let the addiction begin…

 

Myles Farrington, Senior Editor:

Hibernation in preparation for Monday night. Destiny is coming, and I will face it with open arms.

 

Shawn Richards, Associate Editor:

I might just face The Last of Us: Remastered and Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. When I am bored, you could find me on my Vita with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale! Feel like challenging me? Fight me online @LittleBigHamm on PSN.

Also, for all those playing Minecraft on PS4, have fun while I await for cash/the Vita version. Also, for all those awaiting Destiny (like this guy on top of me), have fun also. Try not to have a heart attack before it comes out. For all those doing classwork/homework, you have my sympathy. :))

Having achieved the platinum trophy in Dragon’s Crown, I’m gonna try and make some progress in a couple games I started recently but didn’t complete – Persona 3 FES and Mega Man Battle Network. Gonna try and get my backlog as low as possible before Hyrule Warriors and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax come out later this month!

This weekend I’ll be playing Velocity 2X. I’m pretty pumped to check it out as I never got around to playing Velocity Ultra. Also I’ll be enjoying opening weekend of the NFL Season.

As much as I love watching football, I generally don’t like playing football video games. So I’ll have football on the TV and Pushmo on the Wii U GamePad.

I’m going to play Minecraft with my son. We are going to build us a castle that creepers can’t infiltrate.

Another weekend, another attempt at trying to finish Metroid Fusion. Hopefully I’ll allow myself the joy of finishing it!

I will probably dip my toes into Minecraft: Xbox One Edition as I eagerly anticipate Destiny…

 

Ryan Latuso, Associate Writer:

I’m hooked on FFX Remaster right now. Other than that I’m just watching football and waiting for Destiny.

 

Tyler Bartlemus, Associate Writer:

I will likely be working my way through Pokemon X again this weekend. The game has been taking me longer than I expected, but how can you honestly blame me? With 719 unique Pokemon in the game, it is going to take a while to “catch them all”.
