Bungie announced a digital upgrade program for Destiny yesterday.

If you purchase the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Destiny digitally before January 15, 2015, you will also have access to the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version for free within the same console family.  This is also going to apply to other digital content purchased for Destiny.

My Opinion:

This is awesome. It may not be big for everyone but if you have friends on both generations then it means you can have both and play with them all.  This is also what I have been saying needs to happen for digital downloads. If publishers want people to go digital, give incentives like this and people will follow. I canceled my physical pre-order so I could get both digital versions.
