Alien: Isolation Goes Gold And Scares Up New Trailer

Publisher SEGA made the announcement that Alien: Isolation has officially gone gold.  The game releases on October 7th, but work on the game is now finished. The only step left is to mass produce copies and prepare for shipment.  Alien: Isolation will be available to a wide array of gamers as it launches on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. Developed by Creative Assembly, the upcoming survival-horror game puts players in the role of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley.  Ellen Ripley was of course the main character in the first two Alien movies and became a film icon (portrayed by Sigourney Weaver).

To build up anticipation for the title and showcase what horrors await, SEGA will be releasing a series of nine short trailers for Alien Isolation.  The first one titled “No Escape” can be seen below.

My Opinion:

It would appear that survival horror is making a comeback.  Not only with games like Alien Isolation, but also the upcoming The Evil Within and Silent Hills.  Everything I have heard about Alien Isolation has been positive and leads me to believe it is ready to lead the charge for this renaissance of the genre.  The trailer shown with the player making a mad dash to escape the alien carnage only to get gutted through the stomach before reaching safety is certainly terrifying.
