In the latest issue of Jump magazine, Bandai Namco announced that Tales of Zestiria will be released on January 22, 2015 in Japan.
The release date was actually leaked by accident last week on the game’s official website, before immediately being taken down.
The magazine article also introduces a new character named Rosé, who is said to be “cheerful and lively” and “she sets the mood of the group.”
There is no word yet on when Tales of Zestiria will be released in the west; however, Bandai Namco is on record saying that it will be released within the same year as it is in Japan, so expect it to be sometime in 2015.

Wow. January 22nd is much sooner than I had anticipated. The problem I have with such an early release date is that it doesn’t give us any clues as to when it will be released in the west. Since it will be during the same year, that could literally mean ANY time next year. Though, using logic, you could say that it will probably be released in August (the same month the last two flagship Tales games have been released). I would like to see it sooner than August, but either way, it’s exciting to know that it’s coming next year!
