Do you love history lessons and Google Maps’ Streetview? Well boy is Ubisoft catering to you. This week Ubisoft launched “Project Window,” an interactive experience centered around the sights and sounds of Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Project Window aims to bring an explorative touch to the biggest French tourist destinations, especially those linked to the French Revolution. The experience is narrated by Andy Serkis as visitors experience The Bastille, Notre Dame, and Place de la Concorde. In addition, the site throws in some assets from the game.
Earlier this week, Ubisoft announced what will be included in the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Unity is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 11th.
I can’t imagine Project Window is convincing anyone to pick up Unity, however I love when developers take the time to do something special outside of the gaming realm. Between this and inFAMOUS: Second Son’s alternate reality game, Paper Trail, I hope this becomes a standard for all video game developers. Cross-media experiences are the best kinds of experiences.
