Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Gets A Season Pass Trailer

Earlier this year we reported that Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will get a Season Pass. Now, WB Games have released a trailer detailing what will be in the season pass for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

  • Guardians of the Flaming Eye – Battle Sauron’s most elite guards and while do so you can earn runes for the base game.
  • Trails or War – There are four challenge modes and it’s a good way to earn extra experience, runes, and there is even leaderboards. Season pass owners gets all the challenges right away.
  • Lord of the Hunt – You can hunt or tame wild animals that are spread throughout Mordor and it will allow you to gain more unique runes and new skills.
  • The Bright Lord – In this side mission, you can play as Celebrimbor. An elven king of the Second Age of Middle-earth in the height of Sauron’s power. In this mode you can learn more of his past and you can even fight against Sauron and his forces.

Other DLC you can get in this Season Pass is runes, skins and additional content not yet announced. The season pass will be $24.99. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor releases on September 30 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version will be released on November 18th.

My Opinion:

The DLC extras sound interesting and a good way to keep playing. The downside is that it is about to come to the point where buying a new game at launch is getting more risky than it already is. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is getting a lot of great reviews out there and I don’t doubt one bit that it will get a few Game of the Year wins, but eventually they will come out with the “Game of the Year” edition with all the DLC released. This just makes me wait for that version of the game to be released.
