Philippe Morin, the co-founder of Red Barrels Games, confirmed that Outlast 2 is in development.

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Morin revealed that Outlast 2 will take place in the same universe as the first and feature new characters and a new setting.

“We might go back to Mount Massive Asylum one day, but for now we have new ideas and themes we’d like to explore and we think we’re cooking up something special,” Morin went on to say.

Little was revealed during the interview other than the game’s announcement.  A release date or window was not given either.

Outlast first came to PC back in 2013 and has since come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

My Opinion:

I still haven’t gotten around to playing Outlast, but what I saw definitely caught my interest.  After hearing all the praise it has gotten I am excited to give it, and its sequel a try.
