The release date of the next iteration to the critically acclaimed Halo series may have accidently been revealed by a new employee. Microsoft has reached out to IGN to say otherwise, however, no explanation has been given regarding the potential evidence.
This news comes by way of a photo posted on Twitter by 343 Industries’ Michael Cavanaugh. The picture depicts Cavanaugh with another 343 employee as they pose in front of a 343 Industries banner. However, under the banner, a small countdown clock can be seen with the number 382 on it.
Assuming that the clock is for the launch of Halo 5, 382 days would mean that the game would be released on November 10, 2015. Despite Microsoft’s claims, this would be a fitting release date considering that Halo games, including this year’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection, traditionally launch in November. It is also worth noting that November 10th is a Tuesday; a day when games tend to release. Halo 5: Guardians may or may not release on November 10th but Microsoft has confirmed that it is due for a 2015 release.
As a long-time Halo fan, this news excites me. I have been putting off buying an Xbox One but a new Halo game will easily sell me on the console. 2015 is looking to be an insanely packed year. I can already tell that my wallet is going to hate me.
