DriveClub PS Plus Edition Still Stalling

A month after the game has been released, Driveclubs PlayStation Plus version still has yet to be available for download. That will remain the case for a while longer.

President of Sony’s World Wide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, revealed on Facebook that the PlayStation Plus edition has been delayed.

“We are also very conscious that we have disappointed so many of you who were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.”

DriveClub had already faced many problems before release. The game was previously announced as a launch title for the PlayStation 4. Now, nearly a month since release, DriveClub has been facing many problems. The PlayStation Plus version was promised at launch and was listed in the Plus update for October. Because the game was not listed in the November update, an announcement about a delay seemed imminent.

My Opinion:

Watching all of this drama unfold is a little bit sad. DriveClub was supposed to be one of the stand out titles of the PlayStation 4’s launch. Not only has it had a rough launch but the reception seems to be lukewarm. I hope Evolution Studios comes out of this okay.
