Super Smash Bros Players Banned for More Than a Lifetime

Banning players in an online game for a limited time is nothing new; banning them for 136 years is.

Many people playing Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS online, including Reddit user McMichael, have reported the game banning them for 136 years. There are several reasons a player can be banned:

  • Targeting one player
  • Quitting in the middle of a match
  • Self-destructing on purpose
  • Remaining inactive during a match

Nintendo has not given an official statement on the glitch. This problem has been affecting players for a few days now and it is not limited to just American players. Japanese player zenaorz1 tweeted a picture of the notification on his 3DS.

We liked Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS when it released on October 3rd. The Wii U version is planned for release on November 21st.

My Opinion:

Nintendo should say something about this problem, especially since online is the only way to play with other people on the 3DS. They have gotten better about solving situations like this recently. Hopefully that will be the case with this problem too.

Riley Berry is convinced that this ban is not a glitch and Nintendo plans to reveal the cure for death as one of their quality of life products. You can follow him on IGN.
