Target signaled the beginning of the holiday sale season Sunday with a week-long Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion on all games across all platforms.

Hundreds of games are available in the deal, observed both online at Target.com and in stores, before it wraps up Saturday, November 15th. The usual sale rules apply, as the lowest priced game receives the discount. The full details of the promotion are here.

In response, Toys R Us is offering a Buy 1 Get 1 40% off deal on Xbox One and Xbox 360 games.

My Opinion:

It is a particularly alluring time to buy an Xbox One. With the Assassin’s Creed bundle (that comes with both Unity and Black Flag), you can get a new console and five games for roughly $470 plus tax. That is a mighty deal. Owners of any console can surely find games to take advantage of the deal this week, however.
