Valkyria Chronicles Beats Strong Competition in Steam Debut

SEGA’s critically acclaimed Valkyria Chronicles launched on Steam yesterday, and sold well to much surprise. Despite competition from indie hit Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and triple-A titan Assassin’s Creed Unity, Valkyria Chronicles has dominated the Steam top sellers chart.

The fact that SEGA’s six year old title is beating such stiff competition certainly sparks the question: Will we see more of the series in the future? The original release of Valkyria Chronicles  was on the PlayStation 3 with its two successors on the PSP. The third game was never localized but now the demand for the series is higher than ever.

My Opinion:

Although I have never played a game in the series, I am definitely interested in Valkyria Chronicles, and I am glad it is doing well. It may be too optimistic to say that the game’s success on Steam could revitalize the franchise, but if it did I would support the series this time around.
