Curve Digital, the team behind games like Stealth Inc., and PlayStation ports including The Swapper and Thomas Was Alone, recently announced their new retro-style shooter Ultratron. Take on the evil bots of the apocalypse early next year.
This is the second time Curve Digital has teamed with Puppygames. Recent December PS Plus game Titan Attacks was their first partnership. Ultratron is a retro twin-stick shooter but with modern polish that looks to be a spiritual successor to Titan Attacks. Unlike Titan Attacks, which takes its cue from Space Invaders, Ultratron is highly influenced by Robotron.
Ultratron consists of 40 levels where, similarly to Titan Attacks, when enemies are destroyed, players will receive money that can be spent on ship upgrades and allies.
Ultratron will blast onto PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Vita, Xbox One, and Wii U in early 2015. It was originally a PC-exclusive.
Curve Digital is becoming one of favorite developers. I find their games perfect to play on my Vita, especially the arcade-inspired ones. I believe the Vita is the best way to play high-score chasing games. Curve Digital also has ported some truly unique puzzle games I love like Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor. Everyone should keep their eye on this consistent developer!
