Sony Producers Excited For Bloodborne

As 2014 draws to a close, focus now turns to the big releases in 2015. When Japanese site 4Gamer asked the production team at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan what they were most looking forward to in 2015, there was a unanimous decision — Bloodborne.

Kentaro Motomura — who worked as a producer on Soul Sacrifice — responded with:

Thank you for your support for the Soul Sacrifice series in 2013 and 2014! The approach out of the beaten path we used when considering user feedback with Soul Sacrifice, I think we might use it next year in some way as well.

About what’s coming next, SCE Japan Studio and From Software teamed up again for next year, and will release the PS4 exclusive title Bloodborne. Please look forward to it, because it’s a considerably solid dark fantasy game!

Teruyuki Toriyama — a producer for SCE Japan — gave the following response:

I’m now focused on Bloodborne, which will be released on March 26th (in Japan). Even if we are a little late compared to the date we gave initially, this game has an unique sense of overwhelmingly desperate struggle and exploration of the unknown. I think we can create a new online experience for our users. By all means, stay tuned!

Masaaki Yamagiwa — another producer for SCE Japan — also shared his thoughts:

We will release Bloodborne on March 26th. We’re preparing for release in various ways now. We will continue to publish information step by step on our official Twitter (@Bloodborne_PS4), mine (@giwamasa) and that of marketer Kitao-san (@YasuhiroKitao) so please follow us if you like.

Since we’re also considering internally ways to ask everyone’s cooperation, in that case, please give us a hand.

Finally, no interview is ever complete without hearing from Shuhei Yoshida — President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.

In 2015 I want to do my best to finally release Bloodborne. After that I will fully dedicate myself to Project Morpheus. Please accompany me, everyone.

It is safe to say the folks at Sony are very excited for Bloodborne. The PlayStation 4 exclusive launches March 24th in the US, March 25th in Europe, and March 27th in the UK.

My Opinion:

Hearing people talk up products within their own brand is nothing new. That being said, Bloodborne does look like it could be something special and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
