Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U was most certainly a success for Nintendo, but they seem to have missed the mark with the popularity of the GameCube controller adapter. A few days ago, a certain import company began to offer a clone to Nintendo’s popular peripheral. 

After a couple of months since its release, the GameCube controller adapter still appears non-existent in the markets today.  With the already high and still rising prices of the popular Super Smash Bros. for Wii U peripheral, it’s no surprise that a third party would come out with an alternative solution.

Import company Play-Asia is offering a knock-off of the GameCube controller adapter for $19.99 and the adapter is also PC compatible with a simple toggle switch.

We recently reported on GameStop offering another bundle offered during the release of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U.

My Opinion:

I bought a N64 adapter for my PC from Play-Asia some time ago, and it works like a charm.  I will likely be investing in this adapter for my Wii U and PC alike.
