The recent zombie-laden release Dying Light, though very little like Destiny, has taken a bit of a jab in the direction of Bungie’s latest title. The good news: it’s actually pretty funny.

As any seasoned Destiny player knows, or anyone who’s remotely paid attention to the news, the Loot Cave used to be the number one spot to go if you wanted to get your hands on the best loot. Many hours were spent raining bullets down on the poor Hive who would foolishly spill out.

In an update, the spawn tables were changed, which replaced the spawning with a pile of Hive corpses. The pile of dead, when interacted with, plays a haunting audio clip which references the cave’s former use. A funny little stab that Bungie took at itself.

All of the explanations aside, the cave can be found in the upper-right corner of the map in Dying Light. Once there, a very similar cave to the one in Skywatch can be found, occupied with a pile of remains. Once interacted with, the quote “Your destiny is to build your legend (and get loot)” appears on your screen.

Following that, a horde of zombies will spawn. If the player has the skill to take them down, one last message will appear saying “Enough! Patch 1.0.2 has been released! Do more quests!” A reference to the patch which saw the end of the loot cave. You can check out the video below.

My Opnion:

This is hilarious. It’s great seeing developers taking kind-hearted little jabs at one another. The Loot Cave will always hold a very important place in the history of Destiny; it’s only fair that others address its existence. Good on ya, Techland.
