Tales of Zestiria topped the charts for video game sales in Japan during its first week on the market.
Bandai Namco’s newest entry in the Tales series officially sold 340,891 units last week, which beat out other new release games like Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and Atelier Escha & Logy Plus. Not only did it beat all other games last week, it STOMPED them, selling 286,917 more copies than the second place game.
Tales of Zestiria launched on January 22nd in Japan exclusively on PlayStation 3, and is scheduled to launch in North America and Europe later this year.

My Opinion:
Honestly, I don’t know why, but I am shocked. I knew that the Tales series was quite popular in Japan, but to see it absolutely destroy its competition came as a surprise. I have high hopes for Zestiria, and I can’t wait until it comes to the West. Hopefully it sells just as well over here.
