An image has surfaced that suggests Platinum may be working on another Metal Gear Rising.
Update: Geoff Keighley and senior producer at Kojima Productions, Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, have confirmed via Twitter that Metal Gear Rising 2 is not in production:
Original Story: The Taipei Game Show 2015 was being broadcast on Twitch this weekend and a NeoGAF user spotted this image:
The image is flashed on screen for a short amount of time at around 2:46:39 of the Twitch stream. The 2 is in the same style as the original Metal Gear Rising font. Here is the first game’s cover art for comparison:
Platinum just released Bayonetta 2 exclusively for the Wii U, and the have also partnered with Microsoft to make Scalebound exclusively for the Xbox One. Metal Gear is heavily tied to the PlayStation brand, so perhaps this is Platinum’s PlayStation 4 exclusive product. Hopefully new information is released soon.
My Opinion:
Six to seven hours is how long Metal Gear Rising takes to complete, but I played it for much longer than that. I had an internal struggle before I came to the conclusion that Metal Gear Rising was my favorite game of 2013. Needless to say, I am excited that a sequel may be in development.
