Dragon’s Dogma Online Receives Huge Info Dump and Screenshots

The floodgates have opened for Dragon’s Dogma Online, the recently-announced upcoming online RPG from Capcom, and the information and screenshots are flowing out.

First came an announcement trailer detailing what players can expect from the free-to-play online multiplayer game. You can see it below.

Following the game’s announcement, an official website went live containing several screenshots of the game-in-progress. These screenshots show off combat and some of the locales in the game. You can check them out in the gallery below.

It was also revealed that the game will eventually be three times larger than the original Dragon’s Dogma, which is nothing to scoff at. This will be made possible through expansions for the game. In an interview with Famitsu, director Kento Kinoshita, producer Minae Matsukawa, and executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi revealed several more facts about the game, including that the free-to-play model will not take away from the classic Dragon’s Dogma experience and that the story is completely separate from the original Dragon’s Dogma or Dark Arisen.

It was also revealed that the game has a story-driven campaign and can be played alone for those who are less social. Other players in a four-team party will be replaced with AI pawns, a la the original Dragon’s Dogma.

Dragon’s Dogma Online will be released in Japan later this year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. It currently isn’t confirmed for a western release, but has that ever stopped us from covering a game? Absolutely not! My Opinion:

That’s quite a bit of news and images to digest, so excuse me while I take a walk to help with this. I never got into the original Dragon’s Dogma like I planned to, but looking at this gets me pretty hyped up. Hopefully it will come west so I can kill some chimera with my friends. Ah, who am I kidding? I have no friends. I’ll just end up using the AI pawns.
