Axiom Verge on the Verge of Release

Tom Happ has released new information about Axiom Verge, including a release date.

Today, on the PlayStation Blog, Tom Happ confirmed a March 31st release date for Axiom Verge. This release date only applies to the PlayStation 4 version of the game; the PlayStation Vita version is still being developed and will release soon. Releasing the PS4 version first was not the original plan:

“[W]hen Sony asked me when I wanted to release Axiom Verge, I had a tough decision to make. Should I hold the PS4 version so I can launch it simultaneously with the Vita version? Or should I just launch the PS4 version now? After hearing from so many people who are eagerly looking forward to playing it, I decided just to launch the PS4 version first. But people who are mostly interested in the Vita version should not worry. It’s definitely coming, and it’s definitely going to be cross-buy, so if you buy it on PS4, it will be ready for download on your Vita as soon as it launches there.”

Along with the release date, Tom Happ talked about several weapon abilities that will be available in the game. No more new information about the game will be disclosed because he “…really want[s] everyone to discover them on their own.” To read about all the new details check out the PlayStation Blog post.

My Opinion:

Tom Happ seems really passionate about Axiom Verge, and that fact gets me excited for the game. I hoped to play it on the Vita but also want it day one, so I will most likely play the PS4 version.
