SEGA is partnering with Game Freak to bring a 2D platfomer to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game’s title is…
Tembo the Badass Elephant. That’s right, the developer of Pokémon, which features hundreds of cute animals, is making a game that stars not only an elephant, but a “badass” elephant.
Tembo the Badass Elephant stars the titular Tembo as he defends Shell City from the evil PHANTOM. The gameplay trailer is a minute of Tembo living up to his name as he fights against Shell City’s attackers:
John Clark, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing of SEGA Europe, had this to say about the game:
“We’re delighted to be working with Game Freak to bring this heavyweight adventure to an audience we feel it will have relephants to,” said John Clark, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing for SEGA Europe. “It’s a trunkful of fun and we think gamers are going to love it. Hopefully more than my rubbish elephant puns. ”
When I woke up today the last thing I expected was for Game Freak to announce a non-Pokémon game, especially one starring a badass elephant. It’s safe to assume that this will be our Game of the Year right?
