The Legend of Zelda Wii U likely will not be coming out in 2015 and won’t be shown at E3 2015.
This information comes from a video (seen below) from Nintendo of Europe’s YouTube channel and a Miiverse post. In the YouTube video, The Legend of Zelda Wii U producer, Eiji Anouma, explained that over the last three months the team has come up with many new ideas for the game. So, instead of cutting and rushing the ideas, the team has decided to work without a specific deadline so all of the new ideas can be completely explored.
In the video Anouma says:
“So I must apologize to all of you who were expecting the game by year’s end, but we are no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority,”
“Instead, our priority is to make it the ultimate and most complete Zelda game.”
Furthermore, in a Miiverse comment Anouma stated that The Legend of Zelda Wii U will not be seen at E3 2015:
“As I said in the video, we would like to take this time so we can bring you a very special experience, by making the ultimate Zelda game. Since we’d like to focus on developing the game we’ve decided to not show the game at this year’s E3.”
I am really looking forward to The Legend of Zelda Wii U; so, I am disappointed that it has been delayed. Nevertheless, like most people, I’d much rather have to wait a few months for a complete game than not wait for an incomplete one.
