A recent story surfaced regarding the possibility of a Freedom Wars sequel. But with the producer of the first game, Junichi Yoshizawa, abandoning his Panopticon, a new Freedom Wars is uncertain. So what’s the next step for Freedom Wars?
Freedom Wars has been a small triumph for the PlayStation Vita. It sold over 230,000 copies in Japan during its launch and has found a devoted following in the West. With all this is mind, the possibility of a sequel sounded like a reasonable wish. That is until Yoshizawa left the project. Luckily, he promised that the series is in good hands with associate producer Tokuou Ohnuma taking over. However, a sequel will depend on whether fans speak and show strong support.
In a recent interview with Famitsu, Yoshizawa claimed,
“Whether or not we can make a sequel cannot be decided by my intentions alone. But in the end, it’s important for players to speak up so we can know if that demand exists or not.”

I would be excited for a new Freedom Wars game and I still have faith that it will happen despite the absence of Yoshizawa. Hopefully they improve the story and tweak the controls a bit, because if they do that it will be amazing! I wouldn’t be surprised if it also comes to the PlayStation 4.
