Street Fighter V PS4 Exclusive Forever

Anyone who wants to play Street Fighter V or any other subsequent versions will need a PlayStation 4 or PC.

“One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox. But the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run.”

This was a statement given by a Capcom representative to GameSpot. Street Fighter V was officially unveiled in December at the PlayStation Experience. There it was announced to only be coming to PlayStation 4, but many people believed Capcom had a way out of that deal by releasing a new version akin to Super Street Fighter IV or Ultra Street Fighter IV. This statement clarifies that no version will be coming to Xbox One.

Street Fighter V is scheduled to release in early 2016 on PC and PlayStation 4.

My Opinion:

Even with this statement, I am still skeptical. While Capcom may mean what they say at this moment, I could still see a version releasing for Xbox One eventually. Third party console exclusivity, especially for an already established series, is a rare occurrence.
