It only took 26 years, but Mother,which kicked off the EarthBound series, is now available in North America.  With its arrival in the West comes a new name, EarthBound Beginnings.  The announcement was made at the Nintendo World Champions.  North American gamers now have the opportunity to purchase the title via the Wii U eShop.  For a look at what to expect, watch the announcement trailer below.

My Opinion:

I’ve never played any of the Earthbound games, but for fans of the games this is a nice treat to experience the title which launched the series.  I also like the fact that Nintendo made the announcement the game would effectively be available right away.  The Virtual Console is a unique asset Nintendo possesses and anything they can do to highlight that is a plus for the company.
