Today, Sony announced that there will be a way to vote for the next games to come to PlayStation Plus via the Vote to Play program.
The program will allow PlayStation Plus members to vote for the next batch of games to be added to the Instant Game Collection. Any runner ups that doesn’t get to be part of the next collection will be discounted for PlayStation Plus members only.
It’s unsure when the program will begin or what the games will be, but it seems that Sony is pushing hard for people to get and keep their PlayStation Plus subscriptions.
If voting is happening soon, then it would imply that this will affect September’s PlayStation Plus Games. You can see what games are being added for August here.
My Opinion:
I think this is a brilliant idea, but before people get too excited, keep in mind that games like The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne will NOT be part of the voting process. At least not yet. I do expect indies to make the list and hopefully games like Knack, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag or any PlayStation 4 AAA that has been out for the past year or so to get a vote. Don’t be disappointed if a AAA game that came out six months ago is not in the voting list. That said, it does make me happy that I recently got PlayStation Plus back. With this and Rocket League, I don’t think I’ll let it expire again.
