Until Dawn Has Gone Gold

Good news for horror aficionados and video game fans alike, Until Dawn has gone gold.

The news was announced today via developer Supermassive Games’ Twitter.

This announcement marks the beginning of the end of the strange road that was the creation of Until Dawn, as the game was originally intended to be a PlayStation 3 game supported by PlayStation Move.

The game tells a timeless tale of a hapless group of young people headed off to a remote cabin in the mountains. Needless to say, all hell breaks loose. You play the game through the perspective of multiple characters, and the decisions you make determine who lives and who dies.

Until Dawn releases August 25th, exclusively on PlayStation 4.

My Opinion:

I am so excited for Until Dawn. I am a lifelong  horror fan, and the slasher genre has always been my favorite. I’ve always wondered why you didn’t see more video games based on the slasher film archetype, and I wholeheartedly believe Until Dawn will deliver that in a big way. Not to mention a stellar cast headlined by Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malik (who is red hot right now due to the incredible Mr. Robot). This game is shaping up to be one of the most memorable gaming experiences in an incredibly packed 2015!

Adam Leonard is an Associate Editor with MONG, his favorite horror movie is Halloween, that is also his favorite holiday and he is obsessed with haunted houses (the ones with actors playing ghosts, not the ones with actual ghosts, though those are pretty cool too). He also contributes to Creepy Kingdom. You can also find him on Twitter and IGN.
