Sony Celebrates Milestone with 20 Years of Play Video

For some gamers of the younger generation, it would be hard to think of Sony not always being a part of the video game landscape.  For those older, it was not always the case.  In fact it was 20 years ago today that the Sony PlayStation launched in North America.  To celebrate the milestone, Sony has released a video celebrating 20 Years of Play for the PlayStation brand.

The video takes us back to the beginning with the launch of Sony’s first console all the way through each subsequent console and handheld released.  It even takes a moment to look at things to come with Project Morpheus.  Watch the video below and take a trip down memory lane.  Don’t blink or you might miss the PlayStation Move.

My Opinion:

I remember playing the PS1 for the first time in a Circuit City.  Battle Arena Toshinden was the demo game, and I remember being impressed by the graphics.  Back then I was much more of a Nintendo gamer, and in fact the first Sony console I ever owned was the PS3.  Looking back, the company has certainly made an indelible mark on the gaming industry.  It is hard to imagine now how the gaming industry would have evolved without them.
