A new trailer and some extra information has been revealed for the next Danganronpa game.
The announcement at Tokyo Game Show in September had little to reveal, but now we know just a bit more about New Danganronpa V3: Everyone’s New Semester of Killing. First off, the game will be set in the Gifted Inmates Academy, and instead of featuring students who were the best of the best, it will focus on students who are the coolest of the cool. Also, the game will allow the player to lie in the trial portion of the game; in the past two games each statement had to be the truth backed up by evidence. The last important bit of info is that the game will be a brand new storyline. (Bonus piece of info: The main character is a cyborg.) The trailer is below, but it is all in Japanese.
Additionally, the series’ storyline so far will be wrapped up in an anime called Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak Academy. There’s a trailer for that too and it is also only in Japanese.
New Danganronpa V3 is scheduled for release in 2016 for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.
That name is a mouthful. Hopefully when it gets released over here it is trimmed down a bit. I am excited for both projects, although I am a bit disappointed the main storyline is wrapping up in a non-video game format.
