The first delay pushed the game from December 2015 to April 2016. The second delay is much shorter, with Nathan Drake’s final adventure now set to release May 10th, 2016. As to why the much anticipated title was delayed again, Shawn Layden, President and CEO, SCEA, posted this statement on the PlayStation Blog.
“As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.
Therefore, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new worldwide release date of May 10, 2016.”
Uncharted 4 is my most anticipated game for this year and I fully expect it to be great when it finally comes out. Two weeks is not much of a delay and could benefit another Sony exclusive game in Ratchet & Clank.
