2016 is the year VR enters the gaming landscape in a big way. The Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, and PlayStation VR are all set to be on the market by the end of the year and offer the potential of new and unique gaming experiences. Apollo 11 VR aims to offer a space experience like no other.
Immersive VREducation has released a new trailer for Apollo 11 VR. The VR experience allows you to recreate one of the most historic events in history by becoming Neil Armstrong and taking the first steps on the moon. It features historically accurate spacecraft interiors & exteriors with the full Apollo 11 mission recreated using NASA cockpit audio and data. It is scheduled to release on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.
Experiences like Apollo VR are where I think VR will have a chance to really take off. It’s the type of game that could really grab the attention of non-gamers and is something that can only be fully realized through VR. As a kid I never wanted to be an astronaut, but wouldn’t mind getting a glimpse of the experience from the comfort of my couch.
