Today, during a London conference, Sony presented Polyphony Digital’s highly anticipated Gran Turismo Sport.
Gran Turismo Sport, the latest entry in the PlayStation-exclusive racing-simulation series, had a big day today, with Sony revealing its release date, special editions, and its first ever gameplay.
As of today, digital pre-orders for the racing game are live. In order to provide gamers with an incentive to pre-order, Polyphony has revealed that the pre-order bonuses for the standard edition include an exclusive Gran Turismo Avatar a 3-Car Pack, $500,000 In-Game Credit, and a Dynamic Theme at launch.
The 3-car pack includes:
- Peugeot 908 HDi FAP
- Ford Mustang Gr.B Rally Car
- Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Gr.3
In addition to the standard edition, Polyphony has announced a digital deluxe edition for $70 (also available for pre-order), which includes:
- A Livery Sticker Pack
- A Europe, America, and Japan Theme Pack
- A Chrome Racing Helmet
- 1,000,000 credit
Physical editions with retailer specific bonuses will also be available for both, the standard and deluxe edition.
Despite being only “50% complete”, Gran Turismo Sport is set to launch November 15th in the US and Asia, and May 16th in Europe.
There was no mention of the previously talked about beta or PlayStation VR support. Gran Turismo Sport will launch on PlayStation 4 exclusively.
My Opinion:
Racing games aren’t my jam — unless, of course — we are counting the cart racer. If so, then racing games are very much my jam. Still, while I may not enjoy realistic racing-simulators, I can recognize that Gran Turismo is the best on the market.
