Today, developer Psyonix announced its plan to expand the chat options in Rocket League.
Timing the perfect sarcastic “what a save” or “great pass” is no trivial matter. It takes hard work, dedication, time away from your family, and most importantly, it takes a heart of steel. Whether being used for its actual function or for sarcastic purposes, the quick chat feature has been an integral part of Rocket League since it bursted onto the scene last June. Further, it’s been a troll’s paradise. However, it’s always been a little bare-bones.
Psyonix are changing that. Starting this June, players will be able to customize their quick chat messages in the Home Menu and choose from the existing options and the following new additions:
- All yours.
- Calculated.
- Go for it!
- Great Clear!
- Holy cow!
- In position.
- Incoming!
- My bad…
- My fault.
- Need Boost!
- Nice Block!
- Nice one!
- No Way!
- Okay.
- Oops!
- Savage!
- Siiiick!
- What a play!
- [/*]Whew.[/*]
- Everybody dance!
- gg
- Nice moves.
- One. More. Game.
- Rematch!
- That was fun!
- Well played.
- What a Game!
According to Psyonix, the update will launch this June accompanied by another substantial summer update, though what this update contains, has yet to be divulged.
My Opinion:
Personally, this adds at least another 8 months of playtime and fun for me. Now, I just have to convince Psyonix to add the Dikembe Mutombo “no no no” gif as an option.
