The white Xbox One S 2TB has sold out — and Microsoft has decided it won’t be making anymore. The white Xbox One S 2TB model launched last week at $400 and has since completely sold out at most retailers.
Today, Microsoft told Eurogamer that it isn’t planning to replenish that stock with any more white 2TB models. Therefore, if you still want a 2TB-sized Xbox One S then it appears your only option will come in the form of the blood red Gears of War-themed special edition, which will arrive in limited numbers in October.
Some internet users have reported that their local stores are still carrying some stock of that console, though for most people the only chance of getting their hands on the 2TB white model will come through third-party sellers.
My Opinion:
I Imagine the imminent Project Scorpio plays a huge role in Microsoft’s current gun-shyness about manufacturing too many Xbox One S consoles. That, or they just don’t want the 2TB model to be the standard for the Xbox One S going forward, and rather have the 500 GB or 1TB models as the main versions.
