Raiders of the Broken Planet, an online asymmetric multiplayer adventure from MercurySteam will not release this year the developer has confirmed. A PC beta (which you can sign up for here) will also start in September for PC.
Additionally, the developer also revealed Xbox One and PlayStation 4 betas will follow the PC one, but no date or window was offered forward.
Further details have also be revealed, such as the target framerate and resolution: 1080p at 60 FPS. Other details:
- The PC version won’t be limited/held back graphically by the console versions.
- Frame rate and resolution will be locked.
- MercurySteam also suggested the price would be so low for a AAA production games, that “gamers won’t believe it”
- .Broken Planet will use a Seasons model, where each will have four or five specific missions, characters, and storylines.
Story Overview:
“In the Lira Constellation, light years from Earth lies a Broken Planet. Long ago, its inhabitants discovered a powerful ability enhancing substance called Aleph. Today, this Broken Planet is home to the entire Universe’s intergalactic scum and criminal lowlife. All are here to wrest control of the Aleph and thereby control the Universe.”
Raiders of the Broken Planet will release sometime in 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PC.
My Opinion:
AAA games from mid-tier developers usually are pretty lackluster and this game doesn’t look like an exception to the rule.
