The numbers are in folk, and the month of July belongs to the 3DS and GTA V.
Yes you read that right, the 3DS had beaten the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in sales for the month of July. Propelled by Monster Hunter Generations the entire 3DS family exceeded last July’s performance by 80 percent.
On the software front, Rockstar and GTA V flourished in a month that lacked any big releases. Here is the full top ten list:
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Overwatch
- Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Monster Hunter: Generations
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III
- Minecraft
- NBA 2K16
- Doom 2016
- Destiny: The Taken King
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege
Important to note: the NPD report now includes digital sales (in the US) in addition to physical sales. However, this only includes digital sales from participating publishers. Publishers such as Sony, Microsoft, and Bethesda aren’t included, among many more.
My Opinion:
I don’t get how each month there is a ton of new people to buy the same games each month. It will be 2029 and GTA V and Minecraft will still be kicking around on this list.
