The first copies of Famitsu have been leaked in Japan, which is extra important this week, because the copies bring with them a review score for the highly anticipated Persona 5. Even more interesting than the review score, is the information about the game’s length that the review also reveals.
Famitsu awarded Persona 5 a 10/10/10/9 (the publication uses a system of four reviewers), or a 39/40, an almost perfect score. In recent years, Famitsu has been much harder on games, and consequently a score such as this is pretty rare.
The review also revealed that the average play time is 80 hours, in addition to hours upon hours of side and extra content.
Persona 5 will arrive in North America on February 14, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Ahead of its western release, it will come out in Japan on September 15th.
Persona 5 is easily one of my most anticipated games for 2017, and to hear such a positive review out the gate only assures me more that 2017 is the year Persona surpases Final Fantasy.
