In a recent Kickstarter Update, Castlevania creator Koji Igarashi provided the following comment about the delay:
“The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies.”
But don’t worry MONGERS it’s not all bad news. Igarashi also revealed developer of the game Inti Creates is bringing on additional development staff to help polish the product and to help see Igarashi’s vision for the game come to fruition.
Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night will arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita. However, a game releasing for the later two, especially the Wii U in 2018 seems unlikely at best. There has been no word of Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night coming to the NX (or whatever it will be called by that time).
My Opinion:
This comes as no surprise really, and given the poor quality of Igarashi’s latest projects I’m hopeful this extra time will be the difference in getting a top-notch, high quality game from him. But who knows Mighty No. 9 got delay after delay, and clearly the extra time did little to nothing for the quality of the end product.
