During Steam Dev Days , a conference where Steam talks about the future of Steam and gaming, Jeff Bellinghausen of Valve and Lars Doucet of Level Up Labs had a conference about the Steam Controller.
While most of the conference about the creation of the Steam PC Controller, something did come up that will be of interest to PlayStation 4 owners. The DualShock 4 controller can be used natively for Steam. Jeff Bellinghausen explained that the DualShock 4 has the same basic functions of the the Steam Controller. Most notably the gyro and touchpad. Not only will the DualShock 4 work for Steam, but it will also have the same functions the Steam Controller has like more input control.
Other controllers will be revealed in the future, but for now the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller will be Steam Ready whenever Valve is ready to update Steam.
My Opinion:
This is awesome news. While mouse and keyboard is best to use for PC, having the gamepad’s option is always nice. Even more so when you’re like me and use a laptop sitting in bed. Playing a game with mouse and keyboard this way is highly uncomfortable. I can’t wait for this to come out so I can play Half-Life 2 again and other old games that can run on this rather weak laptop.

I completely forgot there were other controller that work with PC gaming because I have a Steam Controller :]. Would be nice to see more PS4 owners using their favorite controller though.
