The exploration of new planets often comes with the hope of discovering new life. Yet, that very same discovery may not result in hope, but horror as evidenced in the Farpoint story trailer.
Impulse Gear’s PlayStation VR title has gone gold and a new story trailer has been released. An unknown radiation source leads to a crash landing on an alien planet. What results is not only scientific exploration, but a fight for survival and a struggle for escape.
Check out the trailer below and look for Farpoint when it releases on PSVR May 16th. Farpoint will be available bundled with the PSVR Aim controller for $79.99 or standalone for $49.99 in both retail and digital formats.
Since being revealed at E3 2016 Farpoint has been a standout among PSVR titles. Not only for its promise of delivering a fully realized VR experience, but also for its impressive graphics for Sony’s device. In addition to a single player campaign, Farpoint offers online co-op and use of the PSVR Aim controller. The Aim controller provides an extra level of immersion with a virtual scope and built in haptic feedback.
Farpoint seems to be the type of game PS VR needs. The single player campaign looks to provide a full experience, the type many PS VR owners have been hoping for. It will be interesting to see if the game can help regenerate the buzz surrounding PS VR, which has been mostly non-existent these last few months.
