A Quick Recap of the New Pokemon Sword & Shield Info (Aug. 7, 2019)

In a two-minute video, The Pokemon Company has showcased quite a bit more information relating to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield which releases on November 15, 2019.

Here’s a quick rundown on all the announcements:
-Galarian Forms! Similar to Pokemon Sun and Moon, Pokemon Sword and Shield will have variations on previous Pokemon with different looks, types, and/or abilities

-Galarian Weezing will be a Poison/ Fairy type Pokemon and will either have the Leviation ability or another ability that was not announced.

-Galarian Zigzagoon and Galarian Linoone will both be Dark/Normal type Pokemon and have either Pickup or Gluttony as their ability.

-Obstagoon, a new evolution for Galarian Linoone will be a Dark/Normal type Pokemon and have Reckless or Guts as its ability.

-Morpeko, a form-changing Pokemon will have the ability Hunger Switch and have two forms; Full Belly and Hangry Mode. Fully Belly is the happy-go-lucky version where a move, Aura Wheel, is an electric type and Hangry Mode is the hungry-and-angry version where that same move is now Ghost type.

-Bede, one of your rivals has a Psychic-type Pokemon, Solosis.

-Marine, another rival has a Morpeko and has a group of ‘Wild Fans’ named Team Yell…

My Opinion:
VERY happy to see region variations from Sun & Moon continue with Galarian forms! The reinventions of older Pokemon is always a fun thing to hypothesize and explore. If Kiss-like Zigzagoon is any indication, then we’re in for a jolly-good time. And lest not forget Hangry Mode Morpeko….the internet will use this as their spirit animal…
