Gensou Skydrift Releases on PS4 & PS5 March 9

Formerly a console exclusive on the Nintendo Switch, GENSOU Skydrift, will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 9, 2021.

GENSOU Skydrift, a spell-slinging tag-team racer developed by illuCalab and published by Phoenixx, offers 20 stages and 22 characters for players to enjoy. During these races, one character acts as the vehicle, while the other rides on their back (Yup, you read that correctly). With a variety of exclusive spells, paired with strategic swaps between your characters, there’s sure to be some magical moments with every race. Players can also enjoy various modes including a narrative Story Mode, Time Attack, or Versus for local or online multiplayer.

In addition to the already large roster, two new characters and two new courses will be available on March 9th; characters from Touhou, Alice Margatroid and Rin Kaenbyou in addition to a cherry-blossom course, Heaven, and a futuristic city course in Redevelopment Area B.

“Racing games can be intimidating to break into, but a game made by fans and featuring a cute and colorful cast can help change that perception,” said EIKI, lead developer, illuCalab. “GENSOU Skydrift melds the best of a beloved genre with the magic and lore of the Touhou Project to create a game which hides depth and strategy beneath a veneer of simplicity.”

GENSOU Skydrift is currently available on Nintendo Switch and Steam and will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with support for English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Tradition).
